i paid the police department and the city back. we put this together with a group of volunteerses, the original command center. the wonderful volunteers that exist in san francisco. not people advising you but people coming here doing stuff and they represented the great cross section of san francisco. had two retired school teachers who came to this temporary building everyday for five years, and provided administrative assistance. they were wonderful. one of them was mary louise green. dave ebberly -- you haven't heard that name. he was the guy bouncing around and i found out he was the volunteer driver of the emergency vehicle that we had which was parked in a fire house at the other end of the city and get a call at 2:00 o'clock in the morning and get in that vehicle, and i later learned -- i'm sorry dave. i didn't understand at the time. it was manual transmission and manual brakes and i wish i could have hired him and he he is and somebody was smart enough to bring him with when they had sufficient funds. i was assisted by th

reporter: as frank said as we reported earlier, the san jose police are basically assisting the san jose city college campus police. they are conducting a campus widowed. police say officers are going from building to building looking for this reported shooter. the initial call came from one person who did not identify themselves. important thing that policement to say is they have not had any reports of shots fired. they have not had any reports of any victims reported. we've been talking to faculty members. they say that basically they are only going by the initial information they were given by campus police that there is a search going on for a possible gunman. they say the scene is hectic but everyone is staying pretty calm. at this point it's been going on for a little while. they say they haven't had anything really new to report except for just waiting to see what happens. one thing that one of the faculty members pointed out to me was that just a couple of months ago they had an active shooter training session involving local police and law enforcement and the campus police. in terms

i also conduct tours for folks in motor coach to get from one side of the city to the other. please keep in mind that columbus avenue is a major artery. when i take us around the city and i need to move around in three hours so they can go on to something else, or four, that i simply cannot afford to eliminate all of north beach and hie because my only route is columbus avenue, unless i go by van ness. and particularly with the america's cup coming in, we'll have embarcadaro traffic. so, as you know; as the neighbors know, russian hill is not an option really because our motor coaches are limited on that hill. so, you simply will eliminate sites like lombard street and the famous north beach, going along through the real chinatown of stockton which to me is the real chinatown. they can walk along grant but they have no way to do that and that will be eliminated if you use the proposed option, which is to dig in the center of columbus avenue. thank you very much. >> howard wong followed by susan mccull ac and those are the last two members of the public. >>> good afternoon, ho
